About
Ali Ohlinger’s practice focuses on complex commercial disputes, as well as fiduciary and trust disputes. She has represented, on both sides of the docket, trust beneficiaries, directors and shareholders of corporations (both individually and derivatively), members of limited liability companies, mineral owners and individuals and families in matters including, but not limited to:
- Breach of fiduciary duty
- Breach of contract
- Tortious interference
- Business disparagement
- Aiding and abetting
- Wrongful death
- Fraudulent transfer
- Negligence
- Conversion
- Insurance coverage
Ali has also represented companies seeking to prevent the public disclosure of trade secret and commercial data. As a first year associate, Ali served as lead associate on a trial team representing the widow of the co-founder and 50% owner of a nationwide, family-owned restaurant, after in a case where the other side of the family attempted to force the client out of the business by secretly funneling millions of dollars to themselves through improper compensation and payments to wholly-owned entities. The team obtained an eight-figure settlement for the client at a second mediation that occurred one week after filing the lawsuit.
Ali brings a deep respect for the unique nature of disputes between family members and business partners. She places real value on understanding her clients’ specific priorities, mindful that these matters usually involve highly-complex personal and business relationships that don’t exist in a legal vacuum. Ali’s background in journalism shapes how she works, bringing a commitment to telling clients’ stories in a way that is both persuasive to the fact finder and authentic to the client.
